When the Stars Align and You Walk in Your Truth

A few days ago, I updated my LinkedIn headline to better reflect something I have been thinking about for some time - a path of alignment:

Movement. People-powered action. Bringing ideas to life. | Health promotion and programme management.

It feels…true.

Movement

Facilitating movement quite literally transcends me. I still don’t fully have the words to explain it.

There is something deeply powerful about watching people move — and even more powerful when they move together. The joy, release, connection, confidence, freedom, energy. It’s more than exercise to me. Movement creates moments where people reconnect with themselves and with one another.

Whether it’s in a fitness class, a movement break, or simply creating spaces where people feel comfortable enough to participate, I’ve realized that movement is one of the clearest expressions of joy and community I know.

People-powered action

Working alongside strong communities throughout my entire professional life has deeply shaped how I see the world.

It has strengthened my belief that people - everyday people - are at the center of meaningful change. Communities continuously show up, advocate, organize, care for one another, and push for healthier, more equitable futures.

Advocacy work has taught me so much about what passion-fuelled people are doing every single day to improve their communities. In my field especially, I’ve seen people fighting for healthier environments, stronger health systems and people with lived experience to have a chance at shaping the systems that they are impacted by

That kind of work stays with you.

Bringing ideas to life

For as long as I’ve known myself, I’ve been “the organizer.”
The reliable one.
The “let’s get it done” person.

And truthfully? I enjoy it.

I love supporting teams and communities in bringing ideas to life - from the early conceptual stages of a project to the execution and delivery itself. I enjoy building systems, coordinating moving pieces, solving problems, supporting people, and helping ideas become tangible.

Even more than that, I love doing this with communities.

There’s something special about seeing a vision move from conversation to reality - especially when it’s tied to work that genuinely matters to people.

And when those projects are rooted in people-powered movements and collective action? Even better.

Health promotion and programme management

Health promotion is a field that encourages us to dig deeper — to look beyond individual choices and consider the environments, systems, policies, and social conditions that shape health and wellbeing. It’s about creating conditions that better support people in living healthier lives.

Programme and project management, on the other hand, gives structure to ideas. It’s the behind-the-scenes work that helps transform vision into action. The planning, coordination, partnerships, logistics, communication - all the things that help meaningful work actually happen.

And somewhere along the way, I’ve realized that I genuinely love operating in both spaces.

So maybe this is what alignment feels like:
when the things that energize you, ground you, and challenge you all start connecting in ways that finally make sense?
